Trainee Controller (C1)
The Trainee Controller rating allows rated controllers to provide Ground and Clearance/Delivery services.
It is recommended to observe rated controllers to gain an understanding of the duties you will perform when connected prior to sitting the exam.
Note
PFATC follows the top-down philosophy where controllers connected on a higher position will provide coverage for lower positions if independent controllers are offline.
To achieve the Trainee Controller rating you must:
- Have completed a sufficient amount of self-study and be knowledgable in all operational aspects.
- Have completed the theory examination with an acceptable result.
